AI Policy Implementation for School Districts

Your district has an AI policy. Now your staff need to know what it means on a Tuesday. The AI Policy-to-Practice Sprint is a fixed-price, 4–6 week engagement that turns your board policy into clear, staff-ready practice.

Why a policy alone isn’t enough

States now expect every district to have an AI policy. Ohio required one by July 1, 2026, and other states are following. A policy creates a workgroup and a review cycle. It doesn’t train teachers, vet tools, or answer the question every principal hears: “What am I allowed to paste into this?”

Most districts don’t have a dedicated AI specialist to close that gap, or the budget to add one. The Sprint gives your team that capacity during the weeks it matters most.

What the Sprint delivers

We work with your AI workgroup to turn your board policy into tools your staff can actually use:

  • Staff guidance in plain language, so teachers and leaders know what’s allowed, what isn’t, and why

  • A tool-vetting checklist for reviewing new AI tools before they reach classrooms

  • Data privacy rules, including our one-page data rule, so every staff member gives the same answer about student information

  • Hands-on training, so staff practice the guidance on real tasks

  • An annual review plan your workgroup can run on its own after the Sprint ends

Every Sprint also includes ready-to-use toolkits your staff keep: prompts, policy templates, decision guides, and one-page “Rescue Pages” for real tasks.

How it works

20-minute readiness check. We learn where your district stands: your policy, the tools already in use, staff comfort, and what’s keeping leaders up at night.

A plan that fits your calendar. We scope the Sprint to your district’s size and time it around your PD days and budget cycle.

Learn, do, apply. Staff practice on their own real work, leave with tools they keep, and get support as they start using them.

Built for responsible use

Humans stay in charge: AI drafts, people decide, and every workflow includes a check step. Our guidance is FERPA-aware, with vendor questions built in. It works for the skeptic and the early adopter in the same room.

Who you’ll work with

CapAIable was founded by former school leaders, not a software company. Kristi Costellow and Luma Mufleh bring 40 years of combined school leadership experience to every Sprint.
